Channel 22 began broadcasting as SBN Television in March of 2003 under the ownership of Tony St. Cyr. Channel 22 then became KBN Television which was founded in January of 2012 as a division of Ray McBerry Enterprises, Inc. In addition to previously serving as sales manager at the station before becoming the general manager, KBN Television founder Ray McBerry has been a successful on-air host on both radio and television in the Atlanta market for more than a decade and is a former Republican candidate for governor. He previously served as the sales manager for SBN Television for the first 8 years of the station’s operation, the former local television channel originating in Henry County.
When SBN Television ceased broadcasting on Charter in November of 2011, a number of friends and supporters suggested that this was the perfect time for Ray to launch his own local television channel — hence the name Kairos Broadcasting Network. “Kairos” is a Greek word which means the precisely best moment in time to do something; in Christian terms it also represents the fact that Christ came into the world at just the right time to redeem mankind. “Kairos” embodies the business, political, philosophical, and Christian views of president and founder Ray McBerry.
In 2014, KBN Television moved to Charter Channel 183 where it continues to serve as the local channel for Henry County and south Atlanta.
KBN TV serves as the local channel for south Atlanta to Henry, Butts, Lamar, Clayton, Spalding, Newton, Rockdale, and Monroe counties.
