The History of KBN Television

We are proud to have served as the local channel for south Atlanta on the Charter Cable Network since 2003 in Henry County and surrounding areas with a total reach of approximately a quarter million viewers. Our goal is to provide quality, family-friendly programming to the fastest growing region in the southeast.

Channel 22 began broadcasting as SBN Television in March of 2003 under the ownership of Tony St. Cyr. Channel 22 then became KBN Television which was founded in January of 2012 as a division of Ray McBerry Enterprises, Inc. In addition to previously serving as sales manager at the station before becoming the general manager, our KBN Television founder has been a successful on-air host on both radio and television in the Atlanta market for more than a decade and is a former Republican candidate for governor. He previously served as the sales manager for SBN Television for the first 8 years of the station’s operation, the former local television channel originating in Henry County.

When SBN Television ceased broadcasting on Charter in November of 2011, a number of friends and supporters suggested that this was the perfect time for Ray to launch his own local television channel — hence the name Kairos Broadcasting Network. “Kairos” is a Greek word which means the precisely best moment in time to do something; in Christian terms it also represents the fact that Christ came into the world at just the right time to redeem mankind. “Kairos” embodies the business, political, philosophical, and Christian views of president and founder Ray McBerry.

In 2014, KBN Television moved to Charter/Spectrum Channel 183 where it continues to serve as the local channel for Henry County and the important region between Atlanta and Macon.

KBN-TV ATLANTA MACON serves as the local channel for south Atlanta to Henry, Butts, Lamar, Clayton, Spalding, Newton, Rockdale, and Monroe counties.

kbn-tv owner & General manager

RAY MCBERRY

KBN-TV owner and general manager Ray McBerry is a native of McDonough, Georgia and has spent his entire life living in our community between Atlanta and Macon. Over the course of the last 20 years, he has personally produced radio and television commercials for more than 600 businesses; and his commercials have aired on local, regional, and national networks.

As a Christian, father, and businessman, Ray is dedicated to preserving the traditional values of our community; and those values are reflected in the programming here at KBN Television.

In addition to serving as our general manager, he also serves as a local pastor in our area and speaks regularly for other ministries and non-profit organizations across the South. He has authored numerous books on both history and Christian living; and his life verse is II Samuel 22:33 which states, “God is my strength and power; and he maketh my way perfect.”
